Executive Protection Certification – Bodyguard Course – Online # 3
An important reminder for graduates of our courses focuses on RE-READING.
Every other month or so, re-read your course manual. This practice will instill one of the best habits for your professional career. Reading things over and over will allow you to discover things you may have missed previously or will help you to refocus.
Also - within the manual are references to a few other Executive Protection authors & books. Go buy and READ those books. That is imperative to you become more professional than your competition.
Read an hour each day in your profession if you want to DOMINATE your market and keep improving.
Until next time,

Executive Protection | Bodyguard | Hand Scanners? Iris Scanners? Finger Scanners? What Are They?
Biometrics (or biometric authentication) consists of methods for uniquely recognizing humans based upon one or more intrinsic physical or behavioral traits. In computer science, in particular, biometrics is used as a form of identity access management and access control. It is also used to identify individuals in groups that are under surveillance.
Biometric identifiers are the distinctive, measurable characteristics used to identify individuals. The two categories of biometric identifiers include physiological and behavioral characteristics. Physiological characteristics are related to the shape of the body, and include but are not limited to: fingerprint, face recognition, DNA, palm print, hand geometry, iris recognition (which has largely replaced retina), and odor/scent. Behavioral characteristics are related to the behavior of a person, including but not limited to: typing rhythm, gait, and voice.

Study Body Language
There are many courses available today that address body language and detecting deceit. One of my favorites is titled “The Power of Body Language” and is authored by former FBI Agent, Joe Navarro.
Go find this course and buy it. New or used… I don’t care. I bought the audio CD version and it came with a student manual as well.
This info is definitely REALITY based and I highly recommend it.
Stay safe!

Technology Is Great BUT Never Eliminate Foot Patrols!
There are two main reasons for keeping foot patrols a part of a security program. The first is that all of the senses can be used by the security agent. Second is the deterrent value. Deterring crimes of opportunity is of utmost importance.
Not only are foot patrols very visible; but there is more contact from person to person and therefore you’re more likely to improve “security to community” relations. Because the agent learns more about the people while walking, there are also more opportunities to develop sources information.
In addition, the agent gains greater familiarity with the physical characteristics of the property, such as places for criminals to hide and danger zones. Knowledge of the patterns and characteristics of an area can help anticipate incidents before they more difficult to control.
Until next time!
